Pope Benedict XIV - great benefactor of the Passionist Congregation.

“The conclave which followed was the longest in modern history, lasting six months. After 255 ballots, the Archbishop of Bologna, Cardinal Prospero Lambertini, was elected, taking the name Benedict XIV.”

“When the two brothers were presented to the pope, he glanced through the text of the Rule they had given him and then said to them, :”This Congregation of the Passion of Jesus Christ should have been the first to be founded and it has arrived last”
