The first Passionists place the Passionist Sign on their tunics on 11th June 1741

On 20th May 1741, the newly approved Rule of the Passionists was brought to the Retreat of the Presentation at Monte Argentario.

St. Paul of the Cross and his companions - they now totaled six priests and two brothers - began a retreat. On 11th June 1741 they affixed the emblem of the Passion on their black tunics. The professed renewed their vows, and the new members pronounced their first vows.
