Some notes from readings –

  • Jesus holds you in his divine arms, so what do you fear? (St. Paul of the Cross, Letter 1278, 24th October 1760)
  • The Passionist Charism – “people find in its wisdom guidance for practical living”
  • St. Paul of the Cross, like any canonised saint, is first and foremost a gift of God for the Church. “In crowning their merits, you crown your own gifts”, is the phrase the Preface for the Saints in the Sacramentary directs to God. They are a gift because they have allowed the gifts of God visible in them to predominate throughout their lives.
  • Humble yourself before God, show him your wounds with gentle reverence and love and ask him to heal them – (Living Wisdom for Every Day – Minute Meditations taken from the Writings of St. Paul of the Cross)
