From my reading ….

30 April, 2022

“If God were trying to tell me something … would I know? If God were reassuring me or challenging me – would I notice?”

“Finding God in all things is the gift of a mindset that facilitates a mystical view of the world, seeing beyond experiences, giving the sense that we’re on sacred ground, continually being breathed into life by a Presence whose love has the intensity of a blazing fire.”

“God does not disappoint” (Pope Francis)

“Yesterday’s understandings of the Divine are always old. Its only the immediate day and the moment before me that matter.”

“Seeing is crucial. That’s why it is essential to seek vision and create enough silence in one’s life to listen to God.”

“God is a great underground river that no one can dam up and can stop” (Meister Eckhart)

“For all eternity God lies on a maternity bed giving birth. The essence of God is birthing” (Meister Eckhart)

“One who truly has God will have God in all places, in the streets, in the world, no less than in the Church” (Meister Eckhart)

“Always trust your instincts – they are messages from your soul”

“I am always wary of decisions made hastily. I am always wary of the first decision, that is, the first thing that comes to my mind if I have to make a decision. This is usually the wrong thing. I have to wait and assess, looking deep into myself, taking the necessary time” (Pope Francis)

Awaken me!

27 April, 2022

Risen One, come meet me in the garden of my life. Raise up neglected gratitude. Coax my dormant dreams. Lure me into elation. Revive my silent hope. Entice my tired enthusiasm. Give life to faltering relationships. Roll back the stone of indifference. Unwrap the deadness of my spiritual life. Impart heartiness in my work. Risen One, send me forth as a disciple on your unwavering love, a messenger of your unlimited joy. (Joyce Rupp, Out of the Ordinary, p. 70)

Passionist Hospitality for Ukrainian Refugees

7 April, 2022

The Passionist Spirituality Centre in Las Presas (Cantabria, Spain) welcomed 32 refugees from the war in Ukraine. The Red Cross in Cantabria is carrying out the legal procedures: securing residence permits, health certificates, etc. All expenses are covered with funds from the European Union.

They are good people, very polite. When they arrived, a few days ago, they were very frightened and very sad; but today, thank God, they are already smiling a little, as they feel more comfortable and grateful.
